IX International Sacred Music Festival “Silver Bells”
INTERNATIONAL CONTEST
FOR YOUNG SINGERS OF CHRISTMAS SONGS
8th of January 2015, Daugavpils (Latvia)
REGULATIONS
The Organizer is Daugavpils Music secondary school in co-operation with the Department of culture and the Centre of Latvian Culture.
Rules of the Contest
The Contest is held in the following categories:
A: girls up to 9 years of age;
B: girls from 10 to 12 years of age;
C: girls from 13 to 16 years of age;
D: boys up to voice mutation period;
E: boys from voice mutation period to 16 years of age;
The age of contest participants is determined on the 8th of January 2015.
The contest program must include 2 compositions, the time or the performance up to 6 minutes. It must be Christmas songs (original and folk) or sacred music compositions from Christmas period.
The contest program can be performed a cappella or with acoustic instruments.
3 scores of all performed compositions should be presented after arrival.
Scoring System and Awards
The performance will be evaluated by Jury using the system of 25 points according to the following criteria:
technical merit,
artistic interpretation.
The verdict of the Jury will be final.
Each participant will receive a Diploma of Participation.
III degree Diploma will be awarded to the soloists having 18-19.99 points.
II degree Diploma will be awarded to the soloists having 20-21.99 points.
I degree Diploma will be awarded to the soloists having 22 points and more.
The best singer of the Contest will be awarded with the Grand Prix.
The program of the Contest:
The 8th of January, at 12.00 - Opening ceremony, Contest of singers;
The 8th of January, at 18.00 - Closing Concert and Awarding.
Accreditation
All expenses connected with the participation in the Contest are paid by the participants. The organizers will try to
find reasonable conditions of stay for every participant and will help with finding a residence and dining facilities.
All rights of photographs and audio-, video- recordings produced during the Contest are reserved to the organizers. A non-refundable registration fee: 15.0 EUR.
Participants have to hand in the following materials until October 1, 2014:
an application form

a short summary of previous creative activity,
a photo of the participant,
a registration fee.
